I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and had always followed the University of Michigan football team, the Wolverines. When I left Michigan to move to Oregon my best friend would repeat “a Duck” over and over again, because I was no longer going to be a Wolverine, but a Duck. Well, that was in 1994 and the University of Oregon Ducks went to the Rose Bowl—not the Wolverines—and played Penn State. Since I’ve lived here in Eugene, we are now 2 and 0 against Michigan. All my best friend in Ann Arbor can say now is that he is glad I didn’t...

I was born and raised in Lincoln County, Oregon, on a 100-acre ranch 28 miles east of Newport that was built by my family four generations ago. Growing up as an only child the first 9 years of my life, I got to experience the world on my own terms. Later, I learned to share the world with three half-siblings.
While growing up as a young child I always took great interest in what my father did. He was an accomplished mechanic...

I have been a car enthusiast for as long as I can remember. While attending the auto mechanics program at Lane Community College I rebuilt a 1982 Chevy Camaro. I was born in Ohio and moved to Oregon in 1961. I lived on the Southern Oregon coast through high school, and later earned an associate degree in physical science from Southwestern Oregon Community College. I married my high school sweetheart, and we moved to Eugene in 1976. We have a son that graduated from the University of Oregon and Oregon Health Sciences University and is now a dentist in Eugene. We also have a daughter that graduated from the U of O with a bachelor’s degree...

I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington but moved here many years ago. I love it here and decided to stay. I even re-affirmed my west coast “web feet” by becoming an Oregon Duck!
When I was a single gal, I had a hard time finding an auto mechanic whom I could trust with my car. Being a women and not very knowledgeable about car repairs, I was always apprehensive whether the auto shop was honest and up-front with me. I’ve never felt that way with Swedish Engineering.

The year was 1979, the month November, and instead of waiting until the 25th of December I decided I wanted out. I joined my family of a stay -at-home mother, father who worked and a brother who is 6 years older than me that still considers me to be the baby brother - even though I'm 2 inches taller than him.
We moved to Eugene when I was 3 years old and my father was working in the then booming RV industry.
